[ after four days in the safehouse, shiro's getting a little stir crazy. and he's run out of things to distract himself with. this could very easily lead him down some nasty mental paths, so instead he thinks about keith. he wonders how keith's doing, if he likes his job, if he's adjusting well to this crazy mess, if being experimented on has left any lasting effects on him, and so on and so forth ad nauseum.
no, really.
a little into his wondering, shiro feels a weird kind of tug or twist in his stomach. not exactly like nausea but sudden and disconcerting enough that for a minute, he thinks he might puke.
he doesn't. instead, he blinks and suddenly he's not on his cot in the safehouse. nope, he's about a foot or so off the ground next to wherever keith currently is, about to land flat on his ass. surprise!! ]
[Keith's heading around the block from the grocery store near his apartment when Shiro shows up right in his path. His eyes widen, fingers tightening around the tote bags that he carries for these occasions, and he moves forward, crouching down to the now-landed Shiro.]
What—how did you get here? ... Is it even safe to be out yet?
I have no idea. [ no, really. this is not something done deliberately or something he was prepared for. he's in his bare feetsies, for crying out loud.
shiro carefully pushes himself up and looks around. ] I was just--thinking. About you. And now I'm here.
[Two of his closest friends here now gone. First Ciri, now Noctis. Though Keith has grown past a lot of his early-life abandonment issues, it still hits hard. And in nearly the same way.
What does he even say? His interaction with Prompto is largely neutral, and at least partly because he was friends with Noctis.]
I'll keep that in mind.
[Flat and unemotional. See, Noctis would know that's not how he's acting or thinking, but he doesn't know what else to say.]
[it feels a little empty to leave it at this, all things considered.]
[but it's hard to try and be convincing about how it's not all bad or negative, considering he's having a hard time convincing himself that it's okay.]
i know you mentioned someone you knew leaving several weeks back
i know there's no one that could replace noct and i'm not trying to do that but if you need anything... well, i'm around
@jughead.jones
That whole thing was pretty harsh. You wanna- I don't know- get out or something?

Yeah. Let's do something.

[ "Home" — it's a casual second nature to her, but she knows that's a lie for now. That word. Instead, she doesn't dwell too much on that. ]
It's about that... MMO what-have-you.

Or.
Or a character in a playwright's latest feature.
Am I overthinking it? I'd like to not look as some... fool.
